Capability 02

Laboratory services

Laboratory work has been part of EMS for decades — our current Vice President of Operations started here as a lab analyst and served as laboratory director. Sampling and analyses are how a utility proves its performance, and how our operators know what the process is actually doing.

01

Compliance sampling & analyses

Routine sampling and laboratory analyses supporting permit conditions and required reporting for the facilities we serve.

02

Loading studies

Influent and effluent studies, including composite sampling and laboratory analyses, used to size, troubleshoot and plan.

03

Process control data

Results fed straight back to the operators running the plant, so process adjustments are made on data rather than guesswork.

04

Watershed monitoring support

Field monitoring and laboratory analyses supporting implementation of watershed management plans.

05

Reporting support

Assistance assembling and submitting the reports regulators expect, on the schedule they expect them.

06

Operator coordination

Lab and operations under one company — the analyst and the operator work from the same information.

Why it matters

Compliance is not a paperwork exercise — it is the result of a process that is being watched closely. Because our lab work, operations and consulting sit inside the same company, a trend in the numbers turns into an adjustment at the plant without a hand-off in between.
